Value in Action and in Motion

techniques.org believes in volunteerism as a life value. The company’s officers and employees participate in many nonprofit activities and support several charitable organizations.

As former competitive cyclists, Ryan Gilmer, President and Chief Executive Officer, and Mike Kester, Chief Financial Officer, have used their pedal power to raise funds for the National MS Society by participating in the MS 150 (a two-day, 150-mile fund-raising bike ride in support of the National MS Society). Other employees have joined them in this yearly event either as participants or supporters.

Orphanages in China

In addition to participating in fund-raising bike rides, Ryan Gilmer financially supports select orphanages in China and contributes to other nonprofit efforts. Mike Kester has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Presidents Leadership Class at the University of Colorado and is as a Cabinet Member for Mile High United Way’s 2007 Fundraising Campaign. “Sharing is important to us, as individuals and as an organization,” said Ryan Gilmer. “We encourage our employees to give their time to any organization or cause they feel drawn to. It could be teaching a class, or building a trail, or packing groceries for a food bank. Whatever it is, we encourage them and acknowledge and celebrate their efforts.”

To date, techniques.org employees have participated in activities to aid the following nonprofit organizations:

  • National MS Society
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado
  • Food Bank of the Rockies
  • Denver Museum of Nature and Science
